I have an 87 YJ with a 258 and 31x10.50 tires. I am trying to figure out wich carb I should run as well as which gears i need to get the most out of my stock axles. I am going to put on a 4" lift and have not yet decided on which one to get. I am trying to do this while not putting my family in the poor house. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it
A couple questions, what size tires are you going to? are you keeping your 31's and just adding more lift? Do you have an auto or manual tranny? As for gears you could probably swap in stock 4banger axles with 4.10 gears, keep to pre 91 for the rear they are a little stronger and post 91 for the from they have bigger u-joints. As for your t-case there isn't a sye for it so you will probably be swapping in a 231 if you actually lift to 4"'s also if you have a manual your pegot is probably junk or is about ready to be. A later wrangler trans would be good. Hope this giberish helped.

BDS suspension has the best lift / ride for the buck. check www.bdssuspension.com or something like that and they have a list of dealers. You will need at least some 32's or 33's to fill the gap between the fender and the tires though!
