Towing CJ

I was reading a post on towing a CJ with a 300 Transfer case
and all the pit falls. I was just sitting here thinking what would happen if you towed the Jeep with the hubs locked and the transfer case in nutural, would the input to the transfer case turn and oil the bearings? This just came to me afer a before dinner drink. should I stop drinking?

Re: Towing CJ

If the TC is in neutral, then there is no connection between the front output shaft and the TC input shaft. So, the answer is no the input shaft would not turn.

I'd say enjoy your after dinner drink, just don't tow your CJ this way!
