Water Pump

I'm sure this seems simple but i am looking for opinions
When swapping out a water pump should I use sealant on the gasket of the new pump?

Re: Water Pump

I was just looking in the sealant section of the local Checker and saw a small crimp tube of a sealant that was labeled as "Water Pump Sealant" specifically. Was made by Permatex, if I remember correctly. Leads me to believe that a sealant is definitely called for.
