Military vehichle collector let me take these pics

I went to check out a CJ3a with an unsalvagable body and no motor or title today. When I got there it turned out to be the home of a military vehichle collector and restorer. He was surprised that I knew the designation of almost every vehichle there and a few things about them (he was really surprised when I knew that a front suspension sitting on the floor came from a M-151.) He not only had vehichles, but TONS of parts for them as well. I hope you all enjoy these pictures, they include a lot of the vehicles there, including the one I intend to buy for a future project...
A fully-functional 5-ton Wrecker,

a Gamma Goat,

a Half-Track in the garage,

a bit of a Mule (he had at least 6 of these stacked up around there!)

a fire-truck M-715,

and a flat-bed M-715,

a M-170,

and another M-170 with the front of a M-38A1 in the background,

a M-38a1

a basket-case M-38

and that Willys CJ-3a I will get later (I hope) of wich the frame, springs, axles, grill, hood, and winshield frame are ALL that is salvageable.

The guy who had the flatfender was real nice. I talked to him for a while. I knew he restored stuff, but not to that extent. I should have made the drive to look at it anyway. Even though the body was rough i think it owuld have been worth the trip to see all the equipment. Now i wonder when he will sell the M38A1. It is good that somebody got the flatty that can appreciate it. Send some pictures of her when you get her going.

I forgot to mention something about the mighty-mites...he has FOUR of them in that trailer! "It was another 'all or nothing' deal" he told me. Wish I could find deals like that! This CJ-3a was packaged with the basket-case M-38 he got. I plan on putting a M-38 Omix-Ada body kit on it if I get it. I'll know if my ear needs surgery sooner rather than later on Jan 3rd. If its soon than I'll have enough time to add another project.

I was thinking about doing that when i called him, but i really wanted a title for it. And right now with another CJ5 that i have as a project, i am speading myself to thin. I saw that one picture of the mule and i wanted that. that would be the coolest trail riding vehicle. Almsot like a quad runner, but with all kinds of storage.

Man, I'd LOVE to have a Mighty Mite. Let him know I have a mint M-38 rolling frame and I know where there's an OK '42 MB I could snag as a trade. I'll even deliver these and pick it up! I missed out on an auction that was for a Gamma Goat, eventually went for $2,500, woulda been decent to have. Nice pics, thanks for posting them.

Dang, to bad that's all that is good on that CJ3a (my favorite flatty). I'd happily take that M715 fire truck off his hands, probably ditch the front bumper though .
