TR ugrade coil question ?

I went to the local auto parts store to buy my parts for the TR upgrade. I bought everything it said except the coil. The manager had helped me and said he had a Accel Super Sport crome coil with mounting bracket with a destroyed box. they are $30 for the coil and $5 for the bracket. He sold me both for $15. Will this work well with the TR upgrade? Do I need to do anything differant? The coil connections look similar to the stock coil.
P.S.- The coil stated to get they wanted $35 for so I said I'll give the accel a try.

I'm not familiar with that particular brand coil, but if it is a can coil, you will not get the performance gains that the TFI coil will give you. If it is infact a tfi coil, you shouldn't have any problems.

Re: TR ugrade coil question ?

That wasn't really a question....
But I'll try to give you an answer....

All of the Accel coils are high grade factory type coils at best, and at worse, they are useless.
What you got is a coil just like Ford factory uses, all of Accel's super stock/ super sport are.
Most people see the yellow paint, and a sticker, and just assume that it's a good deal.

The good news is, it should be reliable, if not the most powerful coil for your application.

The bad news is,
You would have been better off with a $5 junk yard TFI coil, bracket, and coil connector than the Accel coil.
