DANG THERMOSTAT!!

ok well finally got to drive my jeep with the new thermostat and it stays a tiny bit over 100 maybe 125, does that mean my ne thermostat is stuck open? and if so does it hurt anything to run the jeep that way for a few days? or does it mean something else? help i'd hate to rip this thing apart again it'll be my third time!

Re: DANG THERMOSTAT!!

I can't think off hand what mne runs at so I can't help with that, but if it is stuck open... no worries. It will just a little longer to warm the engine up in the morning before you get hot air out of your heater. Stuck closed is a very bad thing because the cooling system will not circulate and no cooling will take place.

Re: DANG THERMOSTAT!!

ok well i found out what was wrong, it looks like when i put the gasket over the thermostat the thermostat must have sliped down a bit and i didn't notice it before closing it all up, just finished putting everything back together and it runs great, no more over heating and no leaks! thanks guys!
