SOA Steering Questions

Hey all,

Happy Holidays, I am just sitting here at working thinking of future jeep projects am was wondering what it takes to put the steering arms on the inside of the springs since I did the SOA? Currently everything is under the springs.

Do I just buy those adapters that bolt to the top of the spindle? Whats all involved. Thanks!

Like always, I am no machanic... But with the help of this board, I have done a lot things and I appreciate it.

Re: SOA Steering Questions

I just finished my SOA and found a set of arms like the ones Sam's sells. He gets $125 each $$$. They bolt to the top of the kingpin where the existing plates fit. You may also need a new pittman arm. He has those too. They are made for tapered tie rod ends. They make the steering work well. If you need a set I will hook you up. Ricky...seeya...

Re: SOA Steering Questions

I should have mentioned that I have a D30 up front. I noticed that they are mainly made for D44's and all.. Do I have the option of using them?

Thanks.

Re: SOA Steering Questions

Tri County Gear has a set up for the D30 but its about $1000. Thats a lot of money. Considering I installed an entire, D44 with gears locker and steering for about $1500. Sams arms for $125 is a little steep, I can get you a better deal than that at the 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers in Reno, Nv, they are an associate store so they can sell a wider range of products than the standard corporate stores who are locked into what they can and cant sell. The Reno sells very high quality arms from Lizerd Engineering for about $100 each, That used with the passenger side flat top knuckle drilled to accept the arms $125 and a stock Chevy driver side knuckle from a junk yard for $20 and for about $350 you have everything but the linkage and ball joints for an awsome steering set up, with excellent geometry and superb strength.
