Re: what are the cherokee axle widths?

I don't know if this helps, but between tall joint nuts, it is 52", where the narrow trac is only 48".

Re: what are the cherokee axle widths?

I think the 82 wagoneer front axle I narrowed for my wrangler was about 65" wheel mount to wheel mount cause I ended up cutting around 5" off of it to make it the same as a wrangler.

Re: what are the cherokee axle widths?

i am mainly concerned with the rear axle. i would like to know the width from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface.

Re: what are the cherokee axle widths?

I can only tell you the tread width as reported from the "Standard Catalog of 4x4's". For 1980 the front/rear width for Wagoneer and standard Cherokee was 59.4"/57.8", for wide-track Cherokee 65.4"/62.3". While probably not exactly the same measurements as from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface, it should be close for comparison purposes.
