Who makes a SM420 to NP203 adapter??

I know it sounds weird, but I plan to use the front gear reduction and mate it to a NP205 on my Scrambler. Let me know.....

Re: Who makes a SM420 to NP203 adapter??

i don't think anyone makes one, (and i'm sure they never came from the factory)
'73 or '74 (only one year) chevy did have had some SM465's come with NP203's bolted to them.
now i have not yet set them side by side, but the 465 adaptor might be able to be made to work with a 420. i've actually thougth about this combination myself. i'm just about ready to install my own custom 203/bronco Dana 20 behind a th350.

Yeah, it was '74 that the SM465 had the 203 behind it, very rare. Good luck on the find, and let us know what you come up with, sounds like a nice swap, if I could ever find a SM420 or a NP203.

Re: Who makes a SM420 to NP203 adapter??

Thanks for the info. Yeah, SM420 were ALL divorced mounts to the best of my knowledge. I will have to check up on the output shafts simularities between the SM465 and SM420. Of course, now I have some other wild ideas (using stock plates between a TH350/TH400 (if they ever came equiped with the TH400) and a NP203) that you guys have opened my mind to. Thanks...
