Lookin for a jeep expert (indianapolis)

Okay, here goes. I have a 79 CJ7 (quadratrac, 258, 2" lift). I am planning on doing the body work over the winter. While I have the body off I want to have someone who knows more about Jeeps ( I'm new at this Jeep thing) come over and take a look at what mods have been done and recommend what else I should do before getting back on road.

I live just East of Indianapolis IN, the jeep is just south of I-70 at the Mt. Comfort exit. I would be willing to pay $$ or buy dinner for the lucky one who would be willing to give me advise. Anyone willing to help out this newbie and prevent me from making some stupid mistakes???

Re: Lookin for a jeep expert (indianapolis)

I sent you a private message.

I know a guy that used to work for me.
Can't recommend him for his personality, but he's honest, and he knows gasoline engines. (used to work on the Indy cars, among other things)
He is in Greenfield about twice a month, and would probably be interested.
Let me know.

Re: Lookin for a jeep expert (indianapolis)

Guys, thanks for the responses. Sorry I was away for the holidays and didn't get to respond until now. I will send you email about linking up a time.
The CJ7 will be used mostly on road, but I want to be able to do some light off road. It will be my daily driver to work.
Rush - I do have someone who is going to rebuild my 258, he is good with engines and seems pretty reliable. If things fall through I will get in touch with you.
