Solid Axle Shafts for amc 20

I am rather new to off-raoding and can't really afford a swap for a dana 44 in my 78 Cj7. I was wondering if the single piece shafts will make a significant difference in the reliablity of the axle. I've heard that these shafts are supposed to make the axle almost as good as a 44 but this was from a someone who had just put those axle shafts in his amc 20. Also, what size tires would you guys recommend running with the single piece shafts and a 2.5 inch lift.

The one piece axles will increase your reliability greatly. The AMC 20 is actually a pretty good axle with one piece shafts. With your 2.5" lift you can run 33s, but I would recommend at least a 1" body lift if you plan on any serious wheeling. BTW, do a search of this forum for more info on the AMC 20.

I did the mosser 1 piece axles and i beat my m20 and not a problem. Never heard of anyone ever breaking them. They are worth the money.
