? Question on putting together exhaust system ? ?

i want to go from the down pipe to the cat. to a straight through-glass pack muffler and then end it there, no tail pipe......

is it OK to use the exhaust clamps to hold an exhaust together...or do i need to weld the pipes for a proper seal....

Re: ? Question on putting together exhaust system ? ?

you can use the clamps.. i dont think they will seal like a full weld would.. but i did mine with clamps.. just so i could take it apart if and when i wanted to.. i ran mine all the way to the back.. which is what i would suggest to you.. just ending them in the middle.. well.. you will have quite the smelling ride.. best bet is to take it to the back corners.. and point them out that way.. keep the exhaust out of that backdraft area of straight out the back.. my last exhaust i ran out infront of the rear tires.. ugh.. i hated it.. like this one so much better.. now.. if i can just fix the huge holes in the floor.. hehe..
another note.. make sure this is legal in your state.. most states have atleast a visiual inspection.. and if you vehicle came with cats.. it better have cats on it.. or it wont pass the visiual inspection.. im in north carolina.. and these hillbilly's here.. are a real pain about it.. since im a yankee.. with a jeep... instead of jethro with his new ford f150.. that he just ripped the exhaust off from.. i dont understand this place sometimes..
