Twin-sticking a Jeep NP-208

Since I've got the NP-208 sitting in a box, I was wondering how hard it would be to twin-stick it. Would it have one shifter for H, N, L and one for F, N, R or something similar, or would one shifter control the front axle and the other the rear axle? I remember hearing somewhere that all Jeep x-cases were set up the first way (thats why Jeep and Bronco D-20s have different shift patterns). Also, could I use one of my old BA-10 or NP-231 shifters?

Just run through the gears, it'll be easy to tell which shifters do what. It'll also let you know if you can twin stick it or not.

Re: Twin-sticking a Jeep NP-208

I thought that you couldn't twin stick a chain-driven case? Or does no-one care to? the 208 shift pattern is 2h-4h-n-4l. There is one lever on the case that shifts it. On the dana20 you have the 2 exposed rods for the shifting mechanism. It would seem that it would take modification to the case at the very least to pull this one off. If it can be done though, i'd love to know about it. I ran no shaft on the front all summer, and now that i have the driveshaft on, i miss 2lo! Brendan

I checked out my 'case and its only got one rod coming out that gets rotated to engage things. So you can't twin-stick it
