Oh boy... TJ Tub on a CJ frame?

Ok guys,

Would a tj tub, fenders, hood fit on a cj frame? I realize it wouldn't bolt up.

However, I know that people are putting YJ tubs on Cj frames and I was just wondering if anyone has put a TJ tub on yet. Whats involved besides the body mounts which I would be able to move/change and I guess the only other stuff would be the steering shaft, wiring and stuff right?

well we put a TJ frame under a CJ.. and keep in mind the frame is 4" wider in most of the frame.. so what i would do is look at the rear wheel wells.. and that area.. that would be one concern.. another would be the front fenders.. they are made for a wider frame.. so your shock tower.. mmm.. might get in the way or be inside them..

Hey, I have torches and a welder, anything is possible! In a few years I'm probably going to have to put a Scrambler tub on a Scout II frame, I don't know if mine will last too much longer.

Is there a reason for this question or are you just in the thinking phase. Sounds like a good idea. A leaf sprung tj. I like it. Hey just wondering if you tied your rollbar to the frame yet.

Re: Oh boy... TJ Tub on a CJ frame?

i agree... coils are over rated.... the rear of the tub would be my big concern.. the tj has a much bigger back seat and the wheelwells are dished inward...might not fit in the cj frame...but my fiberglass yj tub and cj front clip only took 2 days to bolt to the tj frame....
