Warn Disc Brake conversion kit from desert Rat

i was looking threw my Desert Rat Catalog and they have a converino kit for all CJ's and YJ's for Rear Discs in the Back for $89.99, it just says that yu need to get GM Metric or cadilliac front calipers and CJ-7 Rotors to complete it, couldn't you just by the conversion kit then, go to the junk yard and pick up the calipers and just buy the rotors at the auto parts store to save some money spending $800 bucks from anywhere else that sells the whole kit?

Re: Warn Disc Brake conversion kit from desert Rat

In a sense you can do this, but the Warn brackets are for use with their floater kits. Now you must remember that there is more to converting to discs than bolting on some rotors and calipers. Not even the so called "$800 disc brake conversions" take into account the master cylinder, proportioning valve, or brake line size. These are all things that must be looked at to put together a "system"(meaning from the brake pedal to the lug nuts) that performs safely.
