To all who care. (OT)

Got this in an email from my Aunt. Very interesting.

Interesting reading for those old enough to remember. Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the "100 Women of the Century." Unfortunately many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not
only the idea of our country but specific men who served and sacrificed during Vietnam.

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot. The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat. In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison-the "Hanoi Hilton." Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJs, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American "Peace Activist" the "lenient and humane treatment" he'd received. He spat at Ms.Fonda, he was clubbed, and dragged away.
During the subsequent beating, He fell forward upon the camp Commandant's feet, which sent that officer berserk. In '78, the AF Col. still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying days) from the Vietnamese Col.'s frenzied application of a wooden baton.

From 1963- 65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO(F-4Es).He spent 6 years in the "Hilton"-the first three of which he was "missing in action." His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned/fed/clothed routine in preparation for a "peace delegation visit. They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his SSN on it, in the palm of his hand. When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like:
"Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?" and "Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your beneovlent captors?" Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper. She took them all without missing a beat. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him the little pile of papers. Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Col.Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know about her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held for over 5 years. I spent 27 months in solitary confinement, one year in a cage in Cambodia, and one year in a "black box" in Hanoi. My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I was weighing approximately 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs.) We were Jane Fonda's "war criminals."
When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with Jane Fonda. I said yes,for I would like to tell her about the real treatment we POWs were receiving, which was far different from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by Jane Fonda, as "humane and lenient." Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees with outstretched arms with a large amount of steel placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane till my arms dipped. I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda for a couple of hours after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She did not answer me. This does not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of "100 Years of Great Women."
Lest we forget . . ."100 years of great women" should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots.
There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget.

Re: To all who care. (OT)

So many people have misgivings, regrets, or admit that the way we engaged the enemy in vietnam was a tragdety. I was shocked and apalled by Robert McNamaras admissions. Those who endured the torture of the VC were heroes in the truest sense of the word. I think of them each time the the code of conduct is recited or I have a recollection of learning it in basic.
Jane Fonda will never receive forgiveness until she admits her crimes. Have you noticed the number of 'NAM VETS returning to meet with there former enemies? I was especially moved by Col. Hal Moores acounts of meeting his former enemies after the tragedy that his airborne calvary troops endured at LZ albany etc.

We owe a great deal to our military heroes.

The mention of that bitches name at my Dads house(he served 3 stints in Vietnam and 1 in Korea), is enough to ruin the entire evening. To list her as 1 of the top 100 most honored women is sickening, she should be in the top 10 most infamouse traitors.

She deserves to live in 'Nam, not here.

She deserves to feel the shame of her treason daily.

Stupid, left wing whacko bitch. Worse than Rosie O'Donnell.

Re: To all who care. (OT)

In any other country she would have been tried and executed for her actions, here she is honored. I wonder if she even releases her freedom to spew such crap was and always will be protected by the blood of Americans that in her eyes are murderers. But then again old Al Gore served and he tried to stop the military vote from being herd at in Florida. Its nice to see were Liberals place are vets and active military.

Re: To all who care. (OT)

Careful how we use the word liberal. Jane Fonda is WAY out there. If you look at the way things were this year, then the terms liberal and conservative begin to get "fuzzy". If you voted Republican b/c you wanted to change the way things were (as many of you do), then technically YOU are liberal. Those who did not want things to this case are the conservative ones! Isn't this sick? Anyhow, I consider myself just left of center. On some points, I tend to be liberal, but for military, gun control (where I'm still liberal compared to many), and Off-roading, I tend to be very conservative (based on classic Lib/Cons ideas). My point is that here is ONE "liberal" that holds the armed forces in HIGH REGARD. Without them, I couldn't have voted the ways I have or hold the beliefs that I hold. Thanks

Re: To all who care. (OT)

I am not old enough to have served during the Vietnam war, but I have many friends and former co-workers who served as Marines and Army in that war. I am sickened that Hanoi Jane is allowed to breath the same air that I am. I really hope the vets who served in that war know they are appreciated for their valiant actions by the people who really matter...the true Patriots of this great nation. You are ALL heroes, Thank you for your sacrifice.

Re: To all who care. (OT)

I still have the sign on my file cabinet,
"I'm not Fond Hanoi Jane"

She should have been tried for treason,
The very definition is giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

She handed over pleas for help to the enemy, and in my book, makes this a capitol offense.

Thanks to her, several dozen prisoners of war were starved, tortured, and at least two died or were killed directly from her actions.

What needs to be done is the Vets that were sold out by that traitor should sue her.
At least they would get the word out that she was a traitor, a liar, and a crewel, inhuman, thoroughly reprehensible person...
And I have no problem pitching in on the legal costs if they find the guys that were damaged by her.

Re: To all who care. (OT)

I guess that I'm astonished that she got nominated b/c when I was in HS, my AP History teacher told us all about her. He was a graduate of William & Mary (right next door to VMI) so I guess he had a better idea of how she operated. I've always thought that everybody knew about what she did. Yeah, either sue her OR write to Time/Newsweek/USNews, etc... and get the word out to the public at large!
