Re: spring run in tellico?

In March (I think) is the Great Smokey Mountain Trail Ride.
A long time friend (a huge TOY fanatic) used to make the run every year. He passed on in September of this year, So as kind of a memorial thing, we decided to take the trip this next year with the Texas Land Crusier Association guy's.
It will be my first time there! Can't wait!!

Re: spring run in tellico?

how about the Paragon park? It is a little more centralized and from what i hear more challenging.

Check it out at:

Re: spring run in tellico?

yes.. i am looking forward to doing some serious trail rides this year.. since last year was spent building the jeep.. come march it should be about complete.. so wanted to hit that run in tellico.. maybe the rosser roundup.. and if there is one in paragon.. i would like to hit that also.. we should start a thread on here.. listing all these runs.. when they come out..
that way i wouldnt have to search 8 million club sites to find all of them.. and their information..

Re: spring run in tellico?

BM, who would it be more centrally located for? By the time spring arrives I will be in Albany, Ga which would mean, according to mapquest, a 17-18 hour drive to Hazelton. For elusive and jeepgod, from Eastern NC, it would be about a 10-11 hour drive. For you to go to Tellico, estimates are upwards of 18 hours. I'm not trying to bust balls here but Paragon wouldn't be centrally located for us three down here. For elusive and jeepgod it would be about the same time to travel to Paragon as it would be to go to Tellico. Don't worry, one day, I'm hoping that before elusive and jeepgod go back to the west coast, that we will be able to venture up north of the Mason-Dixon and check out Paragon.

Re: spring run in tellico?

If we can decide on one really good run, I will make plans to haul my Jeep out there also. Me and Kathy will hook it up behind the motorhome and make a wheelin vacation out of it.

Re: spring run in tellico?

i guess i was being biased to the east cost. i am down for whatever, whenever, keep me posted. reason i say paragon is that a club i am in is having a small run there and i was going to see about combing the 2

but a BBS only one sounds good

Re: spring run in tellico?

Count me in for a spring run. I also prefer Tellico (7 hours). Y'all should consider the Memorial Day trip in Mont Eagle. I have heard roumors that the MTTR might not be running this trip. That would be a real shame. Those guys are cool.
This past October my wife and I did our 2nd and last Jeep Jamboree. The trail leader on our trip ended our day at 2:30,so a couple of us left the group and went off on our own. The second day was the same. They SUCK!!!!! The trail leader was a real PUSSY. His hotel room was right next door to us and was a real snob.Hardly could speak in the mornings. They will never see me on their trips again.
Done venting..
Now lets get a group for the spring and do it right!!!!!seeya...
