Dist. Att. Team Rush

Hey Arron
Hope you are well, And thank you for the Jeep 258 Ignition Upgrade I did last year, It worked GREAT.
This year Iam putting a home made Fuel Injection system in
that I got out of a '87 Astro with a 4.3 L engine.everthing is
working out well with that. My question is can I use my AMC distributor ? Can the sensor assembly & the trigger wheel, be used in this system.
Thanks for your time .

The answer in a nutshell is 'YES'...
You can use the Motorcraft distributor to trigger the fuel injection....

You may be better off to talk to 'Dave' (not CJ Dave) the auto shop teacher, and some of the others familiar with 6 cylinder engines.
There are several of the distributors from donor vehicles that with nothing but a gear change will drop right into your engine, and be the perfect match for your fuel injection system.

The have the same bottom end on the distributor as the GM HEI, so they can be dropped right in, and all the compatible connectors, modules, ect. just for your fuel injection system.

In this case, the GM distributor is definitely the better choice if you can find one that will work, and I just don't know the factory 6 banger stuff well enough to give you part numbers....

Dave, CJ8-5.2Mag, and several of the others are real sharp on what will, and will not interchange....

And just because the housing you have may, or may not work, Remember, GM used basically the same modules in all the distributors, so one of these guys may be able to tell you exactly what distributor donor will drop in your application.
A little 'Mix-N-Match' will go a LOOOOONNNNNGGGG WAY!!!
