CJ TO YJ SPRINGS WITH A SOA

I HAVE A 84 CJ7 AND HAVE BEEN CHECKING AROUND ABOUT SOME DIFFERENT LIFTS. I WAS WANTING SOME ADVICE. HOW DOES THIS SOUND. I FOUND YJ SPRING HANGERS AT JKS,GREASABLE SHACKLES AT JKS, NOT REALLY SURE ABOUT THE SPRINGS YET THINKING ABOUT BDS 2.5" OR OME AND IF I HAVE A HEAVY BUMPER AND WINCH WILL I NEED TO USE A EXTREME DUTY SPRING?? ANY OPINIONS ABOUT THE SPRINGS WELCOME.ALSO WILL I NEED TO USE 5 LEAF SPRINGS OR IS THAT TO MUCH? SPRING PERCHES FROM RUSTYS OFF ROAD {THEY ARE 8" LONG MIGHT HELP WITH AXLE WRAP} WELD ON SHOCK MOUNTS FROM R.E. AND A TRACTION BAR FROM SAMS OFF ROAD . I HAVE A GOOD SHOP HERE IN TOWN THAT IS GOING TO DO THIS FOR ME BUT THEY INSIST THAT I GET A THE PARTS TOGEATHER FIRST THEN BRING THEM DOWN THERE. ALSO WHAT ABOUT DRIVE SHAFT PROBLEMS ???? ANY ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Re: CJ TO YJ SPRINGS WITH A SOA

if you are doing a soa.. then you want atleast the 5 pack springs in the front.. but most of that stuff.. you can make/buy for cheaper.. and what is this.. the shop wants you to get all of this together.. why dont they make most of it.. i could.. and i dont even have a shop.. those long spring perches.. you can make them out of some channel steel.. or tube steel.. and just notch it for the axle..
back to the springs.. your best bet is cj or yj rear springs in the front.. or some.. what did you call them.. exteme duty springs..

Re: CJ TO YJ SPRINGS WITH A SOA

Hey There

I got the stuff you need for a nice SOA conversion. I have the shackle hangers from Slick Rock that you need to convert to YJ leafs and bushings and i have a front Dana 44 housing setup for YJ springs and SOA on a CJ.

Check out the stuff at:

any questions feel free
