Manik nerf bars

Anyone heard of them? I saw them on the Quadratec website for 119.99 a pair with a step. Anyone have any experience with this brand? Thanks for the input.

Re: Manik nerf bars

If I were you I'd shy away from nerf bars, make or buy some rocker gurads if this is a trail jeep, you will just kill the nerf bars and end up getting rocker skids. Look up the post about making angle iron rocker skids a couple months back, if you want a step just cut another peice the size you want of angle iron and attach it as a ster side of Jeep lL step, if you can despiher that diagram. and attach it with wing nuts so you can take it off when you go offroad.

Re: Manik nerf bars

Manik is an EXCELLENT brand. I purchased a stainless steel grille guard from them for my Explorer and I am very happy with it. When I grab it and try to shake it the grille guard doesn't move, my Explorer does. Since I purchased it I have been in a head on colision (20-25 mph), hit a steep hill that would have ripped off my bumper, and now (thanx to the new snow) did a little drift busting and there is not a scratch on the thing. I highly recomend their products. They are pricey but they are more than worth it.

Re: Manik nerf bars

I know they are usually expensive, that's why I'm concerned. The nerf bars I saw are selling for 120. The same ones made by Smittybilt are selling for 160. Doesn't make sense to me, unless Smittybilt is just even more expensive a brand then Manik. Thanks.

Re: Manik nerf bars

My Yj had a set of Smittybuilt nerfs when I bought it and I know for a fact that they have saved me from some major damage so far. Also they are nice for having a landing for jumping to and from shore when you get stuck in a mud hole and don't want to get your feet wet. They also give you a place to jack(Hi-Lift) up the side of your Jeep so you don't have to crawl under it if your careful.
