T-18 to a YJ 4 Banger??

Anyone know if a T-18 will bolt up to a YJ 4 banger? Do the 4' and 6's use the same BH? If not, how does it adapt? Anyone have this setup?

I know the T cases are different but i am asking for a friend.

thanks

well actually Cjs used a Gm151 (iron duke) until AMC developed its own 4 cylinder, ive heard some folks say that its basically a 258 minus 2 cylinders, but Ive never worked on one so I dont know for sure.

But if it does share the amc bolt pattern then you could use a T18 with a Jeep bellhousing.

Re: T-18 to a YJ 4 Banger??

Ozark is right about the YJ 4-cylinder. The GM engine was only used until 81. The thing to check into is if the YJ uses a crank position sensor mounted on the flywheel since they are fuel injected. If it does, you would have to fabricate some sort of pickup on the 258 bellhousing. Check with Advance Adapters on using a T18 w/a YJ 4cyl. YOu don't necessarily have to buy their parts, but the conversion booklet should have the info you need and it's free.

Don't bother with AA on this. They'll only tell you that the NV4500 can be used to replace the AX5. BTDT
Go to http://Hicks4x4.com for help with this. They make the adapters to mount a nice granny low 4 speed to your motor.

hick's sells advance adapter adapters. that is where i got my np435 to dana300 adapter. they were about $60 cheaper than going straight through aa though.
