axle width

I searched for this and couldn't find it, but I know it's on here somewhere. Maybe one of you can help me out with an answer. I need to know the width of wrangler axles and widetrack cj axles. Thanks, Andy

Re: axle width

For the cj the wheel to wheel width is 54.5 in. the spring pads are 36in. apart. The yj is 60 inches wheel to wheel and the spring pads are 40in. apart.

Re: axle width

the spring pads are different from front to rear because the frame is wider in the back than the front. just from memory, the springs pads are about 29" apart in the front of 76 and up jeeps.

Re: axle width

I just measured my 1979 narrow d30, and it measures 27.5 from center spring perch to center spring perch. and the frame rails are 29.5 in the front. I know this doesn't answer the original question, but I had to throw what little knowledge I have into the mix. hehe

Re: axle width

how does that work?? the spring perches are on the frame rails...and the springs go straight back...or did you measure the outside of the frame rails??
