You could possibly use bycicle shifter components, or use lawn mower throttle parts. I will be using the lawn mower idea. Course I'm doing this on a 304

I did the bicycle shifter route. I've seen about five different installs on the net. Harry B. has one on his site (http://www.harryworld.com/harry/jeep.html)and I believe that rockcrawler.com has an install on their site. Go into Yahoo and search on hand throttle.

i prefer the bicycle route personally, but remember to make sure it is fully disengaged with some end play for when you're not using it... otherwise it can get you in trouble when trying to stop... even offroad. stay safe! and take care Jonathan

Re: ideas for hand throttle...anyone?

i just looked at the 'harryworld.com' one and for some odd reason, i never thought of mounting it on the gear shift. we used to have an old scout and that had one on the dash...so that was what i was thinking of, but i like the gear shift idea.....it seems simple enough!

thanks
