AMC 8&7/8 in. ring gear - what is really in my CJ?

I know this is probably stupid, but I can't figure out what rear axle is on my 1980 CJ-7. In the Chilton's manual, it says I have an 8 and 7/8 inch ring gear in the rear. What does this equal? (Example: In the front it says Dana 30)
Also, I believe I have a Dana 300 T-case and Warner SR-4 Tranny. Are these any good?
Thanks for any info!

You have an AMC Model 20 rear axle. The diameter of the ring gear is 8 7/8". For more information about what you have check out http://www.jeeptech.com. There is a section for each major component group on your jeep. You can find info about what you have as well as what works for upgrades.

It's definetally a model 20, do a search there is a big debate weather on the the 20 is a good axle, for sure it needs one piece shafts, or you could swap it out for a d44.
