header problems right out of the box!

I bought some headers for my 350. The headers have round holes, but my heads have square holes. Will this work? I bought the square metal gaskets, but the headers have the paper round gaskets? Which ones do I use if the headers will work. Do I match gasket to header or gasket to heads.??? Or do I look for headers with square openings??? Please advise.

Re: header problems right out of the box!

Well the round hole should be bigger than the square one,,, well lets hope. Take the header gasket,, the round one, lay it on the head over the square ports. If the square port fits INSIDE the round hole then you should be able to use them. Providing all the bolt holes line up. Use plenty of gasket sealer on both sides, be sure to suport the headers and mufflers to keep them from vibrating loose. When you check the fit, if you have any part of the square hole behind the gasket, then it will not work as the gasket will eventually blow out. Did this make sense to you??? Hope so.
