i have a '91 YJ with a 4.0L and teh AX15 manual. It seemed to be dripping oil, but the oil level never drops. The drip trail seems like it is coming from the engine/tranny coupling (maybe something above that?).
The drip has been going on long enough that I'm sure it's not the engine. What exactly is on the inside of a manual? Gear oil? engine oil?
This is a scary problem and i would really like to catch it before something blows up on me.

The tranny has gear oil in it, the t-case uses ATF and you could be loosing brake fluid from the slave cylinder/throwout bearing unit. check the clutch master cylinder for loss of fluids. GP'n
my 87 tranny takes gear oil and the trans case takes atf. i don't know about the ax15. mine is the ba10/5. although my chiltons says all manual trannys use 75w-90 gear oil. this covers 1987-95.
