Wheeling Near San Diego?
Does anyone know of any decent (legal) places to get a days worth of wheeling out of my jeep in the San Diego/La Jolla Area? I see all of the 2wd prerunners and the like running around, but i', not really in the mood to do 100mph in the desert. Just looking for some decent rockcrawling and or dirt.
Directions/travel time/intesity info would be appreciated.

Re: Wheeling Near San Diego?
I think the place that is probably considered the most versatile near San Diego is the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation.
It is about 1 hour from the UTC area. Many clubs go there for runs, so if you check So. Cal. clubs you'll see pics.
There are 2wd dirt roads to some hard hills that you may need to winch up. This time of year it is really nice during the day.
Go to Santa Isabel and turn north toward Warner Springs. When you first pull into Warner Springs you take a right through a neighborhood toward the reservation (about 4 miles). There is a sign at the turn off. When you get to the gate/stop you pay $10 for all day. They will provide a map. You can also buy a sidekick map at a 4wd shop that shows the difficulty rating of the trails (I would recommend this). I have one you could copy if you don't find one (I live in P.B.).
