radiator for 350 swap

Getting ready to swap in a 350 in my cj and wondering if anyone had any ideas on what radiator to use. Worse comes to worse I'll pick up one from summit.

Re: radiator for 350 swap

What radiator do you have currently? If its an upgraded one already you can get the necks swapped to work with the chevy at a shop for like $50. Worked great for me and saved some mucho $$$

Re: radiator for 350 swap

Call Mepco Jeep at 1-800-388-5337. They have exact fit replacements for CJs with the GM configuration on the inlet and outlet. They are available in 3 core high efficiency and 4 core designs as well. Its about $200 for the 3he and $250 for the 4 core. They are the exact dimensions of the stock radiator and are a direct bolt in.

I have the stock 2 core that came with the jeep. I have to look into mepco, I've never heard of them before. Do they have a website?

You might try your local radiator shop they may have something laying around that they could make fit and give you a good deal on it.

Re: radiator for 350 swap

hey i put a 305 in my yj, i went to advance auto parts, and got a neapco radiator for a half ton chevy 83 i think, its a 3 core and i only had to hammer the innerfenders out a little to clear it, i also had to move the drain petcock as it was on the bottom and would've set on the frame rail, it was like 100 or less and has a lifetime warranty, the 305 is mildly built and with a 12" i think electric fan, its yet to peak 200 degrees, and thats while givin it some, theres room for another electric fan but not in my bilfold.

Hey, 4wd hardware carries a stock type radiator that works w/ chevy engines and be cool aluminum radiators that are set up for chevy engines. The be cool are really high qualty and work really well though they cost around $600.

I got my 3 core from 4wd hardware, bolted right in with no mod's. Cools my 350 easily creaping around trails. I run the black magic electric fan. Mine only heats up on the highway 65mph plus because Im turning so many rpms. (in the summer) :)
