258 exhaust manifold...one more time!

Ok, I've read in the several posts that have brought this part up in the past several days to torque the bolts to 23 with the exception of the outer 2 to 50. Where are you getting that 50 lb. figure? My big Chilton's says all of them at 23, but they have been know to be wrong. Just want to be sure, the motor is going in tomorrow morning. Don't want a leak, but also don't want broken bolts.

Refrence to the 50 ft.lbs.is found in:

Chiltons "Jeep, CJ, Scrambler, 1971 -1986 Repair Manual",
page 3-24,
Top of the page, Torque Specifications, See Footnote Number 3.

The settings differ for varied model years. The 50 ft.lbs. apply ONLY to 1980 and newer CJ's exhaust manifold torque specifications for bolts 12 and 13.

Happy Holidays and Safe Jeepin'
