Rear Rug pieces

Guys, where can I buy just the two rug pieces that go over the rear wheelwells? I KNOW, Jeeps aren't supposed to have rugs in them but it's COLD up here in the winter! I guess that I could just get them from the dealer, but I like my right arm. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Rear Rug pieces

If you are friends of anyone in the building industry that has done floor coverings before, ask them to help you cut one to fit. There are two tricky cuts, and one kind of wierd seam to stitch, but you will save alot from the dealer's cost.

I think one of the mail order catalogs carry the pieces individually, but I don't remember which one!

Re: Rear Rug pieces

Try going to a carpet store and ask them what they would charge to make them from remmants or you could just cut them to fit yourself and contact cement them to your wheel wells.

Re: Rear Rug pieces

Wow, just called the dealer, and they said they were discontinued from Jeep! I guess that I'll probably end up buying the whole kit for the inside eventually, even though the rest of the rug is in good shape

Re: Rear Rug pieces

Make your own. Just use some sticky velcro, and cut your own pieces, and lay them in. I made my own carpet for the Scout I used to run, and it worked out fine.

Re: Rear Rug pieces

Try making your own. I purchased some automotive carpet from an upholstry supplier and sewed it with my wife's sewing machine. Or check with Leon Rosser's Think Jeep, they might still have some.

Re: Rear Rug pieces

For a reference there's a small carpet place near me that sells any size carpet and will serge(sp) i.e. bind or stitch up the edges for $1 a foot.
