Hey Guys,

Anyone have an Autozone or Pep Boys (only things anywhere near me) part number for the TFI coil connector thing?

Thanks A Lot

No, but I can probably have a Standard part number tommorow. They should be able to cross it.

Thanks, Ray

Ford 'E-Core' coil ('TFI' Ignition Type),
Standard P/N S-539 (Car Quest)
NAPA P/N ICC-1

Auto Zone doesn't carry that connector, even though it appears in their book.
I don't have a clue about Pep Boys.

Re: TFI Coil Connector Part #???

thanks TR

i just got the NAPA TFI connector, P/N ICC1

but it has 3 wires coming from it

1 wire is red with green stripe
and
2 wires are green with yellow stripe

the 2 green ones attach to the same terminal. is there a wiring diagram for this? I did a seach and found nothing.

thanks man

Mangler,
The second wire is for the tachometer signal when used in a Ford. You don't need it and can clip it off if you want to.

Re: TFI Coil Connector Part #???

You can as long as your tachometer is the type that gets its signal from the negative post of the coil. Make sure that side of the connector is the negative side. Look into the coil where the pigtail plugs in and it is labeled there. It's been a while since I looked at one of those coils, but I believe that is the negative side.

Re: TFI Coil Connector Part #???

SnowTow is correct.
The extra green wire is for the tach hookup, and on some models, the ignition kill.
Keep it or clip it, the choice is yours....
