Re: Recon Engines?

Haven't had any experience with Recon, but interested in comparing the price of a reman. engine and price of parts to rebuild the engine I have. It's got almost 130K on it, so it's about time I start thinking about it. What was the quote you got?

Re: Recon Engines?

I know it is not a Jeep, But I put on in my 85 S10 pickup. It was the 2.8L V6. It worked great. I had not problems with it at all. The warranty that I got with it was even better. 3 years unlimited miles. So over all it was a good experience!

Re: Recon Engines?

Yea I think it is
http://www.reconengines.com

But really I would go with a Jasper Engine if I was going to do it. They have a much better warranty and I have put many of there engines in. ( I am a mechanic ).

It just depend on personal preference I guess

Try it see if you like them

Re: Recon Engines?

I have a recon engine in my YJ. No problems at all with it. It will come with a plate secured to the side of the block with a serial number on it. I just didn't have time to build my own motor this time. I can't say if it's the best of what's offered, but the price was good, and it came with a good warranty. I haven't had any problems with mine since I put it in in September of 99.

Good luck
Pete
