Re: Coolant hose question...really quick and easy

That is the only hose that has ever stranded my Jeep! Pesky little thing. Luckily, mine split where I could cut off a piece, reconnect, and make it on to the Napa store. Mine was so brittle I was surprised it had held together as long as it did. Don't forget to replace it occasionally.

Good luck making it to the store!

Re: Coolant hose question...really quick and easy

That is a really hard hose to find, it is 5/8 at one end and 3/4 at the other. It is usually listed as a dealer only part, but now the dealer in their parts listing has it listed as "bulk hose" which is really stupid because of the different size ends. I ended up looking at the hose selection at NAPA (they didn't list this particular hose) and finding one with the right ends. Let me know if you need the part number, I just bought one yesterday for my new motor.

Re: Coolant hose question...really quick and easy

The NAPA pn is 7388. It may be a little short, but I figured I would just splice a piece of 5/8" heater hose on to make that end longer.

Re: Coolant hose question...really quick and easy

When I needed one, I just went to Napa and asked for a bypass hose for an AMC 304 V8 for my Jeep. In less than ten seconds they gave me one, and it fit perfectly. Didn't cost much either. The Napa store that I go to has always been pretty impressive.

In the past, I have been to some auto parts stores that have been less impressive though...
