Engine Swap

I have an '87 Wrangler with the 2.5l 4 cyl. I have the oppurtunity to buy a 2.5l 4 cyl, 5 speed transmission, and NP231 transfercase out of an '93 Wrangler. It all still works because he is still driving around with it. The person I am buying it from is swapping in a V-8. My question is what is involved in transplanting the newer engine into my '87. The only big difference is the MPI instead of the TBI... right. I already know I will have to hook up the new fuse box and relys to the battery and I am switching to a warn front hub conversion, but is there anything that will make this swap really hard to accomplish, or just simple stuff to hook up and maybe to a little "custom" wiring?

Re: Engine Swap

Its a very simple and worthwhile swap if your mill is getting tired.

Re: Engine Swap

What is he asking for it? If I was going through the hassle of swapping engines, I would not drop in a new 2.5L in place of a few year older one... not much of an upgrade if you ask me... is your current engine in bad shape?
