What do I have ?

Ok, I've been trying to figure out what I have. I think I have a 360, going mainly on the fact that it's an 8 and there is a 360 forged into the right side of the block. It was suppose to be a 304 by stock, but I don't think the motor is stock, since it's got a Holly Double pumper and an Edlebrock intake, but I could be wrong.
Where on the block SHOULD the numbers be, and where on the transmissions and transfer case should the numbers be.
All I have is what I could get off of the carb and that's
If anyone can give me a hand it would be greatly appreachiated

Re: What do I have ?

if it sez 360 on the side of the block, kinda under the motor mount, then it is a 360.
thats good news. it is a very common swap

Re: What do I have ?

not sure what else.. but if you have the stock valve covers.. there might be a tag on it.. that will tell you when it was put together.. also on the back of the block.. there is a number stamped into it.. that will tell you more in detail what you have.. as for the tranny and what not.. are there any numbers on it.. ? they are not so easily to tell you about..

Re: What do I have ?

Now I went to the Holley site and they must list about 10k different carbs that they have made, and put them into a lot of .pdf fies. To the best of my knowledge, which isn't a whole lot, I think i've got a 750 cfm doulbe pumper. The intake apears to be raised, like a long neck leading up to the carb.
If the guy who had this before kept the stock trans, do you think the stock for a 74' 3 speed was a t150? would make the most sense now : 360 to 3 speed T150, and a crazy intake system, how did I get this thing for free?
oh well, any pointers on taking the carb off?

Re: What do I have ?

No, 74's came with a T15 behind V8's or a T14 behind I6's. You can measure the length of the tranny or the length of the bellhousing to tell between T15 or T150.
