Opinions on these instead of flush round LEDs...

Okay, I ran accross these at trucklite.com I think they'll look cool. Instead of round LEDs that are flush mounted, what about these? These would be mounted along with black diamong plate, TJ flares and a TJ filler....

They are cool, I would just be worried about their brightness for use as a stop/tail light since there are quite a bit fewer LED's in those. I think they rate those as used for side marker lights and such...

My suggestion: Use the long oval versions, and mount them at a 45 degree angle (or straight up & down) in the rear for a pretty trick look especially when using the red for stop/tail and the amber for a turn signal (if you wire to split them)

Hey, THEY ARE BRIGHT!

I have a box of LEDs and I ended up going with the round ones. However the square ones are just as bright and look great in my opinion

Those will look kewl, and you will get many questions on the trail. They will be a little harder to install, though. With round LED's all you have to do is get the right size hole saw, mark the center, cut, install light, and you are through. With those you will have to do some positioning and such. If you do it take pics and post them. They would be kewl, though. Depends on how much of a hassle you want to go through. Call me lazy, but I'll take the round ones.

JAMGOOD YOU DAWG!!!

I've picked those lights out as well. I'm a little concerned with the grommet mounting with my 'glass tub, but I'll be installing them as soon as I can.

I was hoping to be the only one!!! Now you've ruined it!!Of course I could always go with 'glassing in a set of corvette tail lights, that might be different.....

Go with them.... they are going to look sharp!!

Make sure that they will work as a running light and stop/tail. The ones that are running lights only have only one level of "brightness" and the pigtail that you wire them with will only have two wires (one for ground and one for power). The lights that are meant as taillights will have three wires in the pigtail (ground, running, and stop/turn).

If any of you go with the rectangular LED's mentioned, try checking the back of newer Monterro's for some closely matching reverse lights

Those lights mentioned are listed in Truck-lites "stop, tail, turn," section of there catalog. They are intended for this purpose.

I'll have to look into the Montero reverse lights. I was angling toward new VW beetle lights, but they are flush mounted round lights.

Thanks for the tip.

Re: Opinions on these instead of flush round LEDs...

I like!
Kinda stays with the square headlight look for the YJ guys.
I have a set of 4" round Pirahnas, that I plan to install on my YJ one of these days.
Id like to see some pics when they are installed.
