why does my clutch fork viberate so bad

my clutch peddel fiberates pretty bad when the clutch isn engaged. does it in all gears and in netural and it increases with rpms. soo i followe the linckage all the way to the clutch fork. and see that it is viberating up and down pretty good. not in and out but up and down. do i have a bad throw out bearing? any ideas. ???

80 cj7 304..

Do you have a return spring going from the the fork to the bellhousing...if you don't you need to put one on there. It has to a very large and strong spring. If you don't have a spring there the fork and throwout bearing will touch the presure plate and casue it to vibrate. You might want to give it a look.

thanks that spring idea might be it the hammer mechanics that had it before me put it on so i wouldnt' put it past them to forget about it. i thing if the flywheel were warped i would get chatter whilei was engaging during shifts but it ****s really well. thanks
