Where can I find marine speakers for my jeep?

I need a marine radio (fm cassette or cd) and waterproof marine speakers for my 89 YJ. Where can I find this stuff?

Re: Where can I find marine speakers for my jeep?

I just got a Jensen system for my CJ at Boater's World. The package was Around $230. That was "waterproof" speakers and a pullout am/fm cass player. The speakers were in a housing and I mounted them to the front of the back wheelwells. They sound ok..The good thing about Boater's World is they will accept any return as long as you get their extended warranty. Please do not think I am ripping companies off, but they sell these things with a warranty that covers everything!!!! So sink the speakers and get some new ones it is their policy...So play by their rules..

You can find the speakers at your local Wal-mart. They are Pioneer and white. The radio, go to your local stereo shop.

As far as speakers, Boaters World carries Bose Marine speakers. I installed a pair in my Center Console that gets soaked with salt water and they have performed great for 2 years running. Only thing is they are a bit expensive and they have self enclosures that may be hard to mount.

Don't laugh, but I got some of those $40/pair JC Whitney indoor/outdoor speakers and have them bolted to the wheel wells. 6 years in too many soaking rains to count and they still sound great (for a Jeep system ).

Don\'t laugh too hard....

But, here is what I am running:

A OLD JVC (at least 10 yeards old) that I am going to mount in my locking center console. Speakers, stock Ford Tempos inside (try not too laugh) Rubbermaid plastic boxes that I have sealed up with silicone and jammed under the seats of my CJ-8. It'll jam (did with the POS Wal-Mart cheapo radio that lasted a week) with this setup. If it needs a little more, I will add a cheapo eq/amp from somewhere (Ames, K-Mart or Wal-Mart or if I am luck a nice Radio Shack 40w one that is on sale).
