Soft brake pedal and booster question??

I have noticed that the brake pedal on my CJ is a little soft. If I give it a half pump and then hit it again, the brakes feel much firmer. This tells me that there is not enough fluid in one pump of the master cylinder to make proper pressure in the calipers and wheel cylinders. The drums are adjusted pretty tight and I know that the calipers have no adjustment. Could there be enough flex in my brake lines to cause this sort of problem?

Re: Soft brake pedal and booster question??

Look like your main cylender is going out. New one at AUTO Zone is about $20. BUT first check to see if you have air in your lines by bleading them all. You leavle may have been low while fore wheeling and air entered your line. (had the same problem.
