Warranty info

Will installing a lift void my warranty?

Two words, yes and no.

It will void the warranty on any components that are directly affected by the lift, such as the transfer, axles, and transmission if larger tires are used. It should not affect the motor.

Now, if you have a decent dealership that does the warranty work, they may overlook the lift and still honor the warranty, in which case you're on easy street. It's really up to the individual dealerhips, although it shouldn't be. We have been denied at one dealership because we "wheel" our TJ, and have it honored at another who doesn't care and says they're designed for off-road.

I agree with JEEPN. My buddy had a '92 with a 3" lift. He ran 31x13.50 Mickey's and blew everything at least once (2 rears, 1 tranny, head, and the T-case). He always returned it to the dealer with the stock rims and tires on it, and though they questioned the lift, his warranty was always honored (three different dealers). I don't know if they got stricter over the years, but you should be ok.
