rear pinion seal

Hey guys,
I have a '79 CJ5 with a bad pinion seal. I bought the seal, but the chilton's guide says i need all these special tools and an inch-lbs. torque wrench, which no one in my neck of the woods has. Any advice on how to do this in my driveway?
Thanks, mike

Re: rear pinion seal

You MUST have an inch lbs. torque wrench to do the pinion seal on an AMC 20, if you don't you will probably ruin the crush sleeve, then it is time to go inside and reset the pinion depth. You don't need any other special tools, but go buy the torque wrench.
