O/T bullsh!t!!!

Okay, I would just like to ask a few questions about this off-topic bullsh!t that's going on. What's wrong with off-topic posts? This BBS is about Jeeps, and also about people and friendships. The reason the off-topics stay at the top is cause people are interested in them and like to put their 2 cents in. If it's an off-topic about the presidential campaign, that effects us as off-roaders. If it's an off-topic about guns, well, a lot of people go hunting with there off-roader and a lot of people use guns on this board. I think it's just pathetic to have people putting these posts on here whining about how they don't like something and trying to get people to stop doing certain things. What's the point? I understand if someone keeps posting complete crap about something know one gives a crap about. Let's all loosen up here. This is not only about Jeep stuff, but guy stuff too(and girl)<smile> I love this board and don't know where me and my Jeeps would be without it. Let's just have some fun!!!

Re: O/T bullsh!t!!!

Jammie-
Your position is the always typical flip side to this ever going controversy.
Let's include nucular physics too! That way it will only take another extra half hour per day to weed through these formulas plus all the other OT stuff just to learn somthing about Jeeps.
And that is the always typical reply to that flip side.
This forum will ebb and flow anyway, no matter how many guns and girlfriends or whatever one has, or has on their mind ...

Re: O/T bullsh!t!!!

Y'know, we went through this some months ago. If I recall, the concensus then was that the BBS was more or less like a bunch of friends BSing at the local coffee shop and off-topics added a lot to the cohesion and geniality of the board.

As the election draws near, though, some people are getting just a tad bit keyed up. In some cases, jacked out of shape, actually.

Mostly the posts that stray from the subject are marked OT anyway, and even if they aren't the subject line normally flags 'em anyway. There is a stark difference between "Dana 300 fell off my CJ! Were those bolts really that important?" and something like: "Damn! Had a fight with my mother-in-law and she shot me in the groin AGAIN!"

I don't post many thread starts, mostly like to read and save the technical stuff that interests me and comment on the occasional off-topic.

If the OT stuff does go away, it's gonna be hard to get along without CJDave's California Commentaries. A weekly dose of it always reminds me how lucky I am to live where I do.

<font color=blue>Last time I checked, we still have "freedom of speech" on the internet/BBS. IMO: Post what you want, because I also have the right to ignore you!
