What are these mystery parts???

I'm working on cutting off body panels so I can weld new ones in place. When I was removing the tale light wireing harness I noticed two things that I had no idea what they are. They are on the drivers side rear The first looks like a plastic bowl maybe like a really big fuel filter. It had i think one bright green hose and two black rubber hoses going to it. The other unknown item is a smaller metal cylinder about 1 to 2 inches tall and about 1 in diamater. it appears that half of it has rusted away. If any one knows what these are i would greatky appreciate there help. Thanks. Kyle

This is the roll over protection device in your fuel system . Its best to have it functioning but I have yet to see one on a CJ that hasn`t been disconnected.

Re: What are these mystery parts???

Ok thank you. I'd like to have them functioning But from the looks of them i doubt they are. and after i pull them out I really doubt they will work if they did Do you or any one else know where i can gett replacements for these? I haven't seen anything like them around.
