Can you add air conditioning to a YJ that never had it from the factory. If possible where do I get the parts? Used or new? Prices? TIA

Re: A/C

I'm sure you can by the A/C kits from most of the jeep parts catalogs ie Quadratech, four wheel drive hardware, etc. I think they are about $900

If your kidneys don't hurt, it's not a real Jeep!

Re: A/C

Hey, try http://www.azmobileair.com or 800.648.4475. The whole kit cost me around $648.00 (landed to NYC), that's with compressor, condensor, lower dash unit, hoses, belt, bracket, idler and others. Its gonna take you about 1 day to install the unit and it uses R-134A, but it works very good. Let's just put it this way, I can't turn to max cold or I'll freeze my b#@*'s off. Go check out their website and call them if you have any questions.

Good luck,

Re: A/C

Actually, you'll freeze your knee-caps off while sweat trickles down your fore-head if you've got a soft-top here in FL. And during the winter your feet will bake and with careful placement your shifting hand will stay warm but not the rest of you. Oh, bless the vent placement on the new TJs!

Restoring a '74 DJ-5C It was running good, so I messed with the carb to make it run better. Now it wont run at all!

Re: A/C

Sycho15,
With this new lower dash unit, vents location are slightly different. If I was down in FL, I would drive my Jeep with no top but gotta watch out for those passing dark clouds from the ocean and hurrican seasons. I learned the hard way when I was down in Miami. lol
I have a liner for my hardtop and it helps out alot in winter.

Re: A/C

AC? Man, I wish I could make mine warm. It is starting to get cold, Winter is coming. AC? That is what I use to put air in my tires. Sorry, no help. I hope some laughs. LOL.

Thanks, Ray
