OT Look at this Elk!!

This 7X8 Elk was taken (with a bow) in North Central Montana. It unofficially scored 409 non-typical. It will be officially scored next month by Pope and Young. Measured 15" circumference at the bases, 52" overall beam length, third tines measured 30 1/2", forth tines measured 29". The current record for Montana scored a 409. It will either rank third or fourth as world record P&Y non-typical.

Everyday travel is off-roading in this town....

Re: OT Look at this Elk!!

Rumors have been flying about some pig that was shot in the Breaks. I guess this substantiates the story. Rumor is the south side will go all special drawing within two years, similiar to the North side.

Re: OT Look at this Elk!!

Shot an elk just like that last year. (pic) Very nice, bet he was having a tough time holding steady for that shot, I would be all over the place being that close with a bow.

Re: OT Look at this Elk!!

So, Mt. I'm up here in Whitefish and was just wondering if you happened to have the exact GPS coordinates of that animal. You see, I lost both of my pet elk about five years ago, they were twins. I think that you have found one of them. If you could please send those coordinates, I will come down immediately and examine the area that elk was taken. Of course I will have to bring my bow for self-defense, and I will try and find my other elk. ;-)

The only thing that makes me feel better is that I passed on a huge sow black bear last weekend. She made my jeep look like a wind up car. Unfortunately she had two cubs, huge cubs, with her. That is why I let her walk. Damn she was huge. Her scat is the size of a coke can, no lie. I have three pounds of it in a freezer bag in the fridge to prove it.

Re: OT Look at this Elk!!

Now I've heard it all. Wouldn't put anything past a Jarhead or a Jeeper, but keeping bear [censored] in your freezer????? Phew!!!
