Timing for HEI?

What setting did you use after installing the HEI? I run Super Unleaded all the time. Should I just adjust it until it pings and then go back a couple of degrees?

Im in the process of doing the HEI swap also.
The timming is 9 deg. BTDC at 650 rpms
Dont forget to open up the spark gap

What gap did you use? I set mine at .038

I set my gap at .045.
