727 Auto tranny cooler line question?

Can someone tell me if the forward tranny cooler line fitting (one closest to engine) on a 727 auto tranny from a waggie pumps tranny fluid to the tranny cooler or receives fluid from the cooler?

Just want to make sure I didnt reverse the cooler lines.

Thanks!

It's probably be easiest to unhook one and see if it's pumping out fluid. Then you'll know which one is which.

Can't rightly say about the 727 but the 904 has the front line port as the supply line. I would think that would be the same on the 727. Course that might fall under the "ASSUME" slot.

Maybe I'm missing something here, god knows it wouldn"t be the first time, but what difference does it make? One is "in" the other is "out" but unless your cooler only allows flow in one direction the tranny could care less which line was hooked to what fitting on the cooler.

Re: 727 Auto tranny cooler line question?

When I put my tranny cooler on, I never thought it would matter which way it flowed to the new cooler. I installed it with the inlet and outlet tubes turned down from the new cooler and did not give a thought to which was the in or out line.
