Rollcage painted and in!

Hey guys,

Just thought I would share some pictures. I finally finished the rollcage and painted it. Its in the jeep but just needs to be bolted back on. I also added some new seats that I got from a local jeep guy. I am sure some will notice that its a bit hard to get into the jeep.. Yup, it is harder than I expected. I am going to get a smaller steering wheel and everything will be fine. I need a new one anyway.

Anyways, here's the first pic.

Re: Rollcage painted and in!

nah, I wouldn't its "custom" unless I bent the bars. I got the hoop and two spreaders from someone on this board a while ago for $50 i think...(can't remember).

I purchased two more spreaders. The spreaders were long so I used the extra tubing between the center spreaders. I also have a place to mount the cb between them.

I also put the bar behind the seats, one along the dash, and the ones along the seats. It turned out pretty good I think. Its a pain to get out of though. I am probably going to get a tilt steering and new wheel to help out.

I can't wait to test it...lol.

What kind of welder did you use? Looks really good. Don't test it too soon.

Re: Rollcage painted and in!

I have a Hobart Handler 135. We have had a bunch of people lay their jeeps over in our Club since like June. I built this cage to test it...lol. Nah, not being stupid but just being aware that its gonna go over at one point. Being safe! I am also working on the harnesses.

looks really good,
i like your choice in color, they say (who ever "they" are) it's easier to spot cracks if it's painted with a light color.
got any pictures from the bottom? i'm mean is it tied into the frame?

Re: Rollcage painted and in!

With all the posts we had a couple months back after that fatal roll over, Id realy like to know how you tied it in also. I love the center set up. And did you just "nuke it out" or did you use a little engineering advice on the best points to place spreaders and cross members?
