Carb Question

Being new to this board you will have to excuse me for not knowing if this topic has been covered previously. Here's the trouble. I've got an 83CJ7 with the 4.2 and for about a month and a half now it's been running real bad: won't idle until it's been running for a while and as of late, won't idle at all regardless of what I do to try and fix it.

So, I want to replace the stock carb with a weber kit. The weber doesn't have the wiring port in back, so if I do this, what happens to wiring? What kind of troubles will this cause with the ignition system and what other mods will I need to do if any? If someone has done this please fill me in because I'm not that versed in this model year. All of my previous Jeeps were CJ5's and none later than a 74 so I never had to contend with the wiring issue before.

Re: Carb Question

That plug for that goofy idle control in the Carter is not used for the Weber. The Weber is a much better carb, BUT, it may not be emissions legal in your area, better make sure it will pass if you have visual inspection.
