Points..1964 F-134..do I need resister?

Hello,
Having problems getting my f-134 to run....do I need a resister to cut from 12 to 6 volts? Bought a new set of points from Advance Auto and they were the wrong ones..is there only one set of points for a 134?
Thanks,
Steve Beverly

All points ignitions need a resistor.
Some resistors are built in the wiring harnesses, some are built into the ignition coil, but all need a resistor.

Points don't care if you run 6 or 12 volts through them. It's the amperage that affects them.

You would be a lot better served upgrading to an electronic ignition, unless you want to keep it completely stock, it's pretty easy to do.
